After the twenties, photography experienced a significant aesthetic renewal. The visual results of this (the second invention of photography) culminated in the internationally strongly exhibited Werkbundausstellung (film and photo), Stuttgart, 1929. This book presents 60 parts of de Teilneheimer with over 250 of the exhibited pictures and detailed information on the photographers and filmmakers. Beautmont Newhall writes in his preface, "It has been revealed that the selection of photographers and their work has stood the test of time for over half a century.’’
