Fotografien 1992-2004 paints a sharp, unvarnished picture of the conditions the working people of East Germany had to endure after 1990. The core of the working world seems to have been turned upside-down, reversed into the opposite, and pensioned off by prescription. In her practice, Christina Glanz is not content with merely observing and documenting the momentous change of the working society or the effects of the so-called transformation process in social groups. She is rather attempting to uncover the causes underlying the drifting-away of those who are suddenly thrown out to the periphery as a result of the rapid paradigm change.
