Madalena Publishing House opens the Pequenos Formatos [Small Sizes] series with works by renowned names of Brazilian photography: Claudia Jaguaribe’s Cactoceae, Lucas Lenci’s Hominini, Christian Rodriguez’s Motobaik and Pio Figueiroa’s Carta a Larraín, Valparaíso. The series’ purpose is to promote collectionism by bringing 16-page booklets with 14 detached plates which can be framed, gifted, or used any way one might like. Each title has a 200-copy initial print run. The books also share common themes:

Cactoceae shows a sight of cacti plants breaching in the urban landscape, as in Antonio Conselheiro’s prophecy according to which “the backwoods will turn into sea and the sea will turn into backwoods”.
