Alberto García-Alix (born 1957) is a Spanish photographer from Leon, Spain. A prolific photographer, he was one of the key figures behind La Movida Madrileña (The Madrid Scene), which was a was a Countercultural and hedonistic movement that took place mainly in Madrid during the Spanish Transition after Francisco Franco's death in 1975. The movement coincided with economic growth in Spain and the emergence of a new Spanish identity.
Alix's gritty photography in this book of his work from 78-83 contains this raw energy, shot on 35mm and capturing the vibrancy and atmosphere of Spain during this period.
