The Asylum Archive book, a hardback that includes photographs, essays and a map of all present and past Direct Provision Centres in Ireland, is the continuation of Vukašin Nedeljkovic’s ongoing work highlighting the injustices, confinement and incarceration of asylum seekers in Ireland. Including essays by Ronit Lentin, Charlotte McIvor, Anne Mulhall and Karen Till. A significant work, since there is very little visual information about previous Irish Carceral sites including Magdalene Laundries, Industrial Schools, Mother and Baby Homes and Lunatic Asylums.

Vukašin Nedeljković is a visual artist and PhD student at the Centre for Transcultural Research and Media Practice at Dublin Institute of Technology. He initiated the multidisciplinary project, Asylum Archive, to collaborate with asylum seekers, artists, academics, civil society activists and immigration lawyers, amongst others, with a view to creating an interactive documentary cross-platform online resource, critically foregrounding accounts of exile, displacement, trauma and memory. www.asylumarchive.com.
