This work explores emotional space through texture and form. The shape and detail of the figures is heavily influenced by Celtic stone carving traditions. The lithic persons are bound to a capricious, fluid environment, contrasting the solidity of the union.
Annie Moriarty is a designer and illustrator based in Dublin. Having graduated with first-class honours from NCAD’s Visual Communications’ course, she is now working in design, further honing the techniques developed during her undergrad.
As a product designer, Annie’s focus is drawn towards structure, accessibility and consistency. In her own work however, she explores softness and subtlety through texture and form, reinterpreting design values and visual boundaries to aid her expression.
The interplay between texture and emotion ties her work together, with themes of connection and relationship dynamics running throughout.
